"7 Days Before You Play" Cancellation Policy effective May 1, 2010

Simply Put...

7% of your trip is non-refundable (this goes directly to the credit card companies). The other 93% is refundable or transferable up to 7 days of your trip. From 7 days to 48 hours before your trip, 50% is refundable or transferable.

The 48 hour rule: 48 hours prior to your trip is too late to cancel or reschedule, sorry...all is lost. This includes cancelling the day of your trip.

What happens if you add or remove a person from your group?

You may add people to your group at any time. Keep in mind that weekends sell out and we may not be able to accommodate an additional person in your party. You may remove people from your party up to 7 days prior to your event and receive 93% back. Any changes to your reservation within the seven day window will be considered a cancellation and you will be charged 50% of the total trip cost per cancellation. The 48 hour rule is still in effect.

What if you miss your ferry?

Don't miss your ferry. You will lose 100% of your total trip cost if you do not arrive for your scheduled ferry. Island Packers Company offers public transportation for all of the Channel Islands National Park visitors leaving from Ventura Harbor. This ferry will not wait for you, it will depart precisely at the scheduled time with or without you. Arrive one half hour early, leave plenty of time for traffic delays, sleep in your car in the parking lot, get a hotel room, just DO NOT miss your ferry.

What if we just don't show up?

We will go kayaking without you and charge you for it (100% of your total trip cost). We have planned for your presence and will not refund your payments. Please notify Paddle Sports if for any reason you cannot make your scheduled trip so that we do not have to turn people down who are waiting for open spots.

Weather Cancellations?

Paddle Sports staff is always monitoring current conditions and forecasted weather on the mainland as well as on the Channel Islands. Rain alone is not a condition that warrants a cancellation; in fact rain can create waterfalls that are very unique and seldom viewed at the Islands.

Inclement Weather: We will notify you of any changes due to weather as that information becomes available. For last minute weather cancellation information please call Island Packers at (805) 642-1393 after 5:30 a.m. on the morning of the trip. If the boat is cancelled that day due to weather, we will move you to another date at no cost, or if you need the cash, we will refund your payment minus the 7%...your credit card company wins again!

Ferry Cancellations: If conditions do not a safe crossing to the Channel Islands your trip will be cancelled by 5:30am the morning of your departure (in some conditions, this cancellation will be made the day before your departure). Call Island Packers at 805-642-1393 after 5:30am to hear any changes to your departure. If your ferry has been cancelled you will receive a full refund or full rain check for a future trip. Please call Paddle Sport's office at 805-899-4925 for questions regarding your credit or refund.

Unsafe Kayaking Conditions: In some instances we will arrive at the island and conditions will not permit a safe kayaking experience. If this happens you will only be charge for 35% of your total cost. This covers the transportation cost and guide services we have already provided.

We respect the privacy of our customers. All information submitted to Paddle Sports of Santa Barbara will not be sold or distributed to any third parties. By submitting your email to Paddle Sports you agree to be enlisted in our email list for specials and discounts. You may choose to not receive these emails at any time by contacting us by phone or by email. All other information is entered into our trip database to make booking your second and third event much easier.

Paddle Sport's Children's Policy

Except for event data applicable to children, we do not intend to collect any personally identifiable information from children through our web sites. Please do not allow children under the age of 18 to provide any personally identifiable information.

If what you purchased is defective or does not meet the high standards we promise to deliver you may return all un-used merchandise within 7 days for a full refund or within 30 days for store credit. All returns after 30 days are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee.

Disclaimers

Paddle Sports of Santa Barbara LLC is officially licensed by the National Park Service for kayak operations at all Channel Islands National Park locations. This license does not allow us to guide hiking or snorkeling. All activities other than kayaking are provided as unguided services. There are no food permits issued at any Channel Islands National Parks, no kayak company is allowed to prepare food for consumption by paying clients.

Paddle Sports assumes no responsibility for guests after the guided kayaking service has ended. Campers are responsible for their own food, camping gear, and disposal of waste while at the Channel Islands National Park. Paddle Sports will make every attempt to inform you of your ferry departure from the Island, however it is ultimately your responsibility to be on time for the ferry.
